The Sun was High and the River was Low

Lyrics by John F Bergin,

On the Silver Heels of a woman I know,

Was a Beautiful Flower she found in the snow.

When the Sun was High and the River was Low.

We walked by the river without a care,

And saw a man who was standing there.

When the Sun was High and the River was Low.

Break

Well, the Sun was High and the River was Low,

And an Arrow was resting upon his bow.

I turned to her and he let it go.

She fell to the ground and gave me a stare,

And then she drew her last breath of air,

When the Sun was High and the River was Low.

Break

When the Mountain calls and it’s time to go,

Back to the woods where the campfires glow.

When the Sun was High and the River was Low.

She took the arrow that was meant for me,

How can I ever be free?

When the Sun was High and the River was Low.
